Eleni Moraiti specializes in a broad spectrum of technology-related legal fields, in particular data protection, cybercrime and child safety, artificial intelligence, e-health, and intellectual property. She is committed to providing effective and innovative legal solutions in the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and digital services.
She is involved in research and innovation projects funded by the European Commission within the areas of data protection, cybersecurity and child safety, technology, e-health, and artificial intelligence. In this capacity, she advises consortia comprised of companies, universities, and non-governmental organizations with the aim of bridging the gap between the technical and legal understanding on the cutting-edge challenges that such projects handle.
She contributes to the compliance of project partners with both legal and ethical requirements, with the ultimate aim of facilitating the market and regulatory acceptance of their research results.
Her work includes the provision of ad hoc support to legal and ethical questions, the organisation of educational workshops on the complexities of data protection law and the standards for trustworthy artificial intelligence, and the drafting of various legal documents, such as data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), data processing agreements, and privacy and cookie policies.
Memberships
Eleni is a Board Member of the European Law Master’s Alumni Association (ELMAA Athens) and Deputy Head Organizer of the International ELMAA Summer School on EU Law, organized every year in Corfu, Greece.
Professional admissions
Eleni is a member of the Athens Bar (Greece) since September 2018.
Prior professional experience
Prior to joining Timelex in April 2024, Eleni was a Bluebook Trainee at the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), where she delved into intriguing aspects of data protection law by providing drafting and legal research support to the legal team of the EDPB Secretariat.
In Greece she has worked as an attorney-at-law with a boutique law firm specialized in EU law. She has litigated before the Court of Justice of the European Union and holds extensive experience in advising clients on a wide range of EU law matters, including data protection and competition law. Moreover, she has worked as an assistant Data Protection Officer (DPO) to several public and private organizations in the fields of health, pharmaceuticals, retail, and tourism. She also assisted them in defending their interests before the Greek Data Protection Authority.
Eleni has participated in legal conferences on data protection and technology law as a speaker and panel moderator.
