Practical guide for creating a good cookie policy

Since the first fine was imposed by the GBA for a cookie policy that did not comply with the GDPR, many organizations have had questions. Not exceptional, because the legislation is very complex and the fines can be high.

In this practical training, Timelex partner Ruben Roex explains what a good cookie policy should look like and what each organization should do. First, a number of general principles will be examined. What is a cookie policy? How do you start? Then Ruben will discuss existing examples of good & bad practices about cookie banners and cookie policies.

This training allows you to send in your own cookie policy that will be discussed anonymously during the session. If you want to submit your cookie banner and / or policy, you can do so via events@politeia.be.

This training is intended for: DPOs, technicians and technical services, CISOs, managers, executives, lawyers, privacy professionals, consultants.

This training will be held in Dutch.

AI and legal issues

Timelex lawyer Hans Graux will speak at the seminar AI and legal issues, organized by Agoria and Sirris. The topic of this session is Robot logic: how does an AI use your data, and is that a problem?.

Artificial intelligence is everywhere already, in every cloud based service that we use. But most of the really drastic innovations are still ahead of us. Is the law ready? The GDPR was – depending on who you ask – either a big step forward in protecting your personal data, or a huge barrier to European innovation. And what about non-personal data? How will new initiatives such as the Cybersecurity Act and the Regulation on the Free Flow of Non-Personal Data affect AI development and use cases? This session will provide a pragmatic overview of legislation affecting data security, both for personal and non-personal data.

Legal aspects of smart contracts and blockchain

The blockchain technology is a handy tool to capture indelible transactions. Although still under development, it has already had an important impact in many sectors. Traditional processes in government, the legal profession, corporate life or the economy in the broad sense lend themselves to blockchain applications.

However, what is the legal impact of using this technology on sound processes and transactions?

These and other new legal issues will be explained in this seminar, which will be in Dutch.
