TRACY

The TRACY (a big-data analyTics from base-stations Registrations And Cdrs e-evidence sYstem) project strives to aid law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to explore the potential of the non-content data of existing telecommunications infrastructure in their investigation and prosecution of cases of organized crime and terrorism.

The search for leads and evidence, including lawful access to communications data, is the cornerstone of law enforcement investigations and prosecutions, allowing to bring criminals to justice. Together with other consortium partners, Timelex aims to assist the wider LEAs community in doing so, while ensuring that TRACY’s open-source platform is used in full respect of fundamental rights, notably the rights to privacy and data protection and the right to a fair trial, including the presumption of innocence.

Our role

Timelex leads the work on the legal and ethical challenges in the project. As a legal advisor to the consortium, Timelex will ensure compliance of the activities and results with applicable laws and regulations, in particular those related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and use of artificial intelligence.
